Volkswagen is making waves in the electric vehicle market with its ID. Buzz Cargo, a futuristic and versatile van that has been named Van of the Year 2023 in Denmark. The award, which is given by a jury of automotive journalists and experts, recognizes the best new vans in the Danish market based on criteria such as design, innovation, functionality, safety and environmental performance.
The ID. Buzz Cargo is based on the iconic Volkswagen Microbus but with a modern twist. It features a spacious and modular interior that can be customized for different purposes, such as delivery, service or passenger transport. The electric van also has a range of smart features, such as a digital cockpit, a solar roof that can extend the driving range by up to 15 kilometers per day, and an augmented reality head-up display that projects navigation and other information onto the windshield.
The ID. Buzz Cargo is part of Volkswagen’s ambitious plan to electrify its entire lineup by 2030. The company aims to sell more than 20 million electric vehicles worldwide by then and to become carbon neutral by 2050. The electric van is expected to hit the European market in 2023, followed by North America and China in 2024.
The jury of the Van of the Year award praised the ID. Buzz Cargo for its innovative design, high functionality and low environmental impact. They said that the van represents a new era of mobility that is both sustainable and fun.
