The 2024 Toyota Venza: A Sleek and Eco-Friendly Midsize Crossover

The 2024 Toyota Venza: A Sleek and Eco-Friendly Midsize Crossover

The Toyota Venza is back, and it's better than ever. The 2024 Toyota Venza is a midsize crossover that combines sleek design, luxurious features, and impressive fuel efficiency. It's exclusively available as a hybrid, with a standard all-wheel-drive system that delivers smooth and responsive performance. The 2024 Toyota Venza also offers a range of advanced technology options, including a 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display, a Star Gaze panoramic roof, and a digital rear-view mirror. Whether you're looking for a comfortable family vehicle, a stylish commuter car, or a versatile adventure partner, the 2024 Toyota Venza has something for everyone.

What's New for the 2024 Toyota Venza?

The 2024 Toyota Venza is based on the second-generation model that debuted in 2021. It shares the same platform and powertrain as the popular Toyota RAV4 but with a more refined and sophisticated appearance. The 2024 Toyota Venza does not have any significant changes from the previous year, but it still offers plenty of value and appeal. The 2024 Toyota Venza is available in four trim levels: LE, XLE, Limited, and Nightshade. The Nightshade edition is a special version that adds black accents and details to the exterior and interior of the XLE trim.

How Does It Perform?

The 2024 Toyota Venza is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that works with two electric motors to produce a combined output of 219 horsepower. The hybrid SUV uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that simulates eight-gear ratios for smooth acceleration and deceleration. The standard electronic on-demand all-wheel drive (e-AWD) system can vary the amount of torque sent to the rear wheels, turning on the driving conditions and the driver's input. The e-AWD system also enhances the stability and traction of the vehicle on slippery or uneven surfaces.

The new Toyota Venza has three driving modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport. Normal mode provides a balanced performance for everyday driving. Eco mode optimizes fuel efficiency by adjusting the throttle response and climate control settings. Sport mode enhances the responsiveness and handling by sharpening the steering feel and increasing the power output. The driver can also select EV mode, which allows the SUV to run solely on electric power for short distances at low speeds.

One of the main advantages of the new Toyota Venza is its exceptional fuel economy. The EPA estimates that it can achieve 39 mpg combined. These numbers are significantly higher than most of its competitors in the midsize crossover segment, typically between 20 and 26 mpg combined. The 2024 Toyota Venza also has a generous fuel tank capacity of 14.5 gallons, which gives it an estimated driving range of over 560 miles.

How Does It Look?

The new Toyota Venza has an elegant and trendy design. It has a low and wide stance, sculpted lines, and curves to create a dynamic and elegant profile. The front end features a distinctive grille with chrome accents, LED projector headlights with daytime running lights, and LED fog lights (standard on XLE and above). The rear end has a continuous LED taillight bar that spans across the tailgate, giving it a futuristic and sophisticated look.

The Toyota Venza Nightshade edition adds some flair to the XLE trim by replacing some of the chrome elements with black ones. The Nightshade edition has black-painted 19-inch alloy wheels, black door handles, black mirror caps, black rocker panels, black roof rails (optional), black shark fin antenna, black front grille trim, and smoked chrome moldings on the front and rear bumpers. The Toyota Venza Nightshade edition has three exterior colors: Celestial Black, Wind Chill Pearl, and Ruby Flare Red.

How Does It Feel?

The interior of the new Toyota Venza is spacious and comfortable, with high-quality materials and finishes. The cabin can accommodate up to five passengers, with generous headroom and legroom. The seats are upholstered in fabric (LE), SofTex synthetic leather (XLE), or perforated SofTex synthetic leather (Limited). The front seats are heated on all trims and ventilated on the Limited trim. The rear seats have a 60/40 split-folding function, allowing flexible cargo configurations.

The cargo space of the 2024 Toyota Venza is less generous than some of its rivals due to its sloping roofline and hybrid battery placement. The cargo volume behind the second row is 28.8 cubic feet, which is less than half of what some midsize crossovers offer. However, the cargo area is well-designed and has some useful features, such as a tonneau cover, a cargo net, and an underfloor storage compartment.

How Does It Connect?

The new Toyota Venza is fitted with advanced technology features that enhance the convenience, entertainment, and safety of the driver and passengers. The standard infotainment system consists of an 8-inch touchscreen, six speakers, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Limited trim upgrades to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with nine JBL speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is also available as an option on the XLE trim.

The 2024 Toyota Venza also offers some innovative features that are not commonly found in other vehicles. One of them is the Star Gaze panoramic roof, which is a fixed glass roof that can switch between transparent and frosted modes with the touch of a button. The transparent mode allows natural light to enter the cabin, while the frosted mode reduces the glare and heat from the sun. The Star Gaze panoramic roof also has a sunshade that can be opened or closed electronically.

Another unique feature of the 2024 Toyota Venza is the digital rear-view mirror, which is standard on the Limited trim and optional on the XLE trim. The digital rear-view mirror uses a camera mounted on the rear window to display a clear and wide view of what's behind the vehicle. The driver can switch between the conventional mirror mode and the digital mode by flipping a lever. The digital mode is especially useful when passengers, cargo, or bad weather obstructs the rear visibility.

How Does It Protect?

The 2024 Toyota Venza comes with a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assist features that help prevent or mitigate collisions. The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 (TSS 2.5) system includes a pre-collision system, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, and automatic high beams. The TSS 2.5 system can also recognize bicyclists in daylight and pedestrians in low-light conditions.

The new Toyota Venza also has some additional safety features that are standard or available depending on the trim level. These include a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, bird's eye view camera with perimeter scan, and head-up display. The head-up display projects essential data such as speed, navigation directions, and safety alerts onto the windshield in front of the driver.

How Much Does It Cost?

The 2024 Toyota Venza has a starting price of $33,645 for the LE trim. The XLE trim starts at $37,175, while the Limited trim starts at $40,975. The Nightshade edition adds $700 to the XLE trim price. These prices do not include the destination charge of $1,175. The 2024 Toyota Venza is eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $750 for hybrid vehicles and potential state and local incentives.

Is It Worth It?

The 2024 Toyota Venza is a hybrid crossover that offers a lot of value and appeal for its segment. It has a sleek, modern design, luxurious, comfortable interior, and impressive fuel efficiency. It also has a range of advanced technology features that enhance the convenience, entertainment, and safety of the driver and passengers. The new Toyota Venza may have less cargo space or towing capacity than some of its rivals, but it makes up for it with its style and substance. If you're looking for an eco-friendly and elegant midsize crossover, the newToyota Venza is worth considering.
